Family: A Universe

English
May 26, 2025

A universe called family is built on Earth, with Auni love at its nucleus. There is a divine significance in the relationships within a family, nurtured by affection, care, patience, tolerance, responsibility, and devotion. If even one of these attributes is missing, the essence of family may diminish into nothing more than a group of people merely living together.

The mother is the Earth upon which the temple of family is built. Her heart lays the foundation of this sacred space, shaped by her blood and sacrifice. The children play upon her heart, and she delights in being the ground beneath their feet. Her partner — her husband — is the eldest and most cherished child. His smile is her joy. The silence in her eyes reflects her boundless affection. Just as the Earth nourishes all, the mother’s heart and her devotion are the lifeblood of the family.

The father is the Sky of the family. All look up to him as the center of strength and virtue. He provides all that is needed for the growth of this temple. The Sky gives air and water — he offers shelter and support. He is not a dictator, but a humble devotee. A friend. A guardian. One who quietly ensures that all is well.

The children are the gods of the temple — pure, innocent, and divine. They know not of possession — no my or thine. They do not require golden spoons; their sustenance is love’s warmth. They are the Almighty in human form. The Earth and the Sky revolve around these divine beings, for they will create another Earth and another Sky. With every child born, a new universe begins. When they smile, the Almighty smiles.

Guru Tegh Bahadur is the Father. Mata Gujri is the Mother. Together, they are the Sky and the Earth. Air and water dwell within the Sky. The Earth nourishes all. They are the source of all shelter, and the Almighty dwells beneath their vast presence. Their children are all of humanity. No one is a stranger. Their love knows no bounds or discrimination. All are their creation and may dwell within their embrace.

The Guru protects all from the harsh winds of tyranny. The Divine infant, Bal Gobind, plays in the lap of Mata Gujri. Guru Gobind Singh Ji is the Universe itself. From Him all things begin, and in Him all things end. In His lap rest all oceans and all lands. All are His children.

Look at the Sky, dear reader.
He made you the Sky and the Earth.
You are His Universe.

Be immersed in His love, and open your eyes to His blessings. The sun, the moon, the stars, and the Earth — all are within the Sky. So why, dear one, do you doubt that your universe is not His?
