London-Gurdwara Baba Deep Singh Ji Shaheed, Birmingham, organized a special Sikh Sovereignty Tour to pay homage to Maharaja Duleep Singh, the last sovereign ruler of the Khalsa Raj. Under the leadership of Gurdwara trustees S. Hardeep Singh Panchi and S. Manjinder Singh, members of the Sikh community from London and surrounding areas traveled in large numbers to honor the Maharaja’s legacy. A specially arranged bus transported the sangat (congregation) to the Avedon Church of St. Andrew and St. Patrick for this solemn tribute.

Providing details of the event, Gurdwara Sahib Manager Bhai Gurpreet Singh Matta reported that a jatha (group) of over 200 Sikhs reached Thetford, where they offered floral tributes at Maharaja Duleep Singh’s memorial. The gathering included the collective recitation of Sri Chaupai Sahib and an Ardas (prayer) by the management and congregation.

Among those present were Gurdwara Sahib Granthi Bhai Jangbaaz Singh and Baba Manpreet Singh.
