Amritsar-The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), in connection with the land matter of Gurdwara Sri Amb Sahib, Mohali, has submitted an application to the Deputy Commissioner of Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar (Mohali) seeking cancellation of the mutation and a ban on any further sale of the land. The SGPC has also demanded that the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), SAS Nagar (Mohali), register a case against those responsible for the alleged fraud.
Sharing details, SGPC Chief Secretary Kulwant Singh Mannan said that, on the directions of SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, an SGPC delegation today met the Deputy Commissioner of SAS Nagar and sought action in the case of the fraudulent sale of land belonging to Gurdwara Sri Amb Sahib. He said the delegation comprised SGPC Secretary Partap Singh, Assistant Secretary Gurnam Singh, Legal Advisor Advocate Amanbir Singh Siali, and Manager of Sri Darbar Sahib, Sri Amritsar, Rajinder Singh Ruby.
He said that in the written representation submitted by the SGPC, it was stated that Rajinder Singh Tohra, Manager of Gurdwara Sri Amb Sahib, SAS Nagar (Mohali), had wrongfully and fraudulently breached the trust of the Gurdwara Sahib. By using forged documents, he committed a serious crime by selling the land and misappropriating the money. The property is a trust asset of the Gurdwara Sahib; therefore, the mutation should be cancelled and any further sale of the land should be stopped.
Kulwant Singh Mannan further said that a written demand was also submitted to the SSP, SAS Nagar (Mohali), seeking immediate registration of an FIR against Manager Rajinder Singh Tohra and other accused involved in this fraud. He asserted that those who have caused loss to the Gurdwara Sahib’s property will not be spared under any circumstances, and there will be no laxity in taking action against them.
